Yesterday we decided to get out of the heat, even if only for a little while, and go camping. We went up to Torrey's parents lots up little Weber Canyon. It was very nice. We spent the afternoon at Smith and Moorehouse Reservoir. Torrey wanted to fish and I thought it would be fun to take the boys out in the rubber raft we have. Well, the fishing sucked and the boys did NOT enjoy being in the raft with me. We didn't even get out far enough to loose sight of the bottom of the water. BUT once the boys were allowed to play in the water, they were wearing life jackets, they had a BLAST! It turned out to be a fun afternoon.
That night we put up our tent, and attempted to all sleep. The boys wouldn't go down, it was atleast 10pm before they settled. But, they finally did, and Torrey and I stayed up and watched the fire and the AMAZING stars in the sky. Before we got into the tent with the boys we scared away a HUGE racoon attempting to get INTO the tent! At sometime during the dark hours, Monkey (too scared to get up) peed in the tent. Torrey got soaked and moved him and moneky to the trailer (permanently parked at the lots). I knew they were gone and had a VERY realistic dream of a racoon getting into the tent with me and Bob-a-loo. Luckily it was just a dream! At 7am the temperature was 40-degrees! Too bad we had to come back to the 100-degree valley! We all lived, and despite the craziness, had a good time. Ahh, the joys of summer!
